A possible release date for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has surfaced online through two early retailer listings, pointing to a February 11, 2025, launch. If accurate, this suggests a slight delay from the game’s originally planned release window.
Although the sequel had been known to be in development for some time, it wasn’t until April 2024 that Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver officially announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. During the reveal, they stated that the first-person RPG was aiming for a 2024 release.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Delay Rumored After Retailer Listings
A newly surfaced Best Buy listing for the PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 suggests the release date may have been delayed. Spotted by Twitter user Wario64, the product page briefly displayed a specific release date of February 11, 2025. However, the listing was quickly reverted to show the release date as “not announced” by late afternoon ET on August 14.
Meanwhile, Walmart’s pre-order page for the Xbox Series X/S version of the game was also updated earlier today and, as of now, still lists February 11, 2025, as the release date.
If this information proves accurate, it’s likely that Deep Silver will confirm the delay soon. The publisher has already announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will have a major presence at Gamescom 2024. The event will kick off with a pre-show trailer on August 20, followed by over 20 minutes of new gameplay footage on August 21. Deep Silver has also promised to reveal more about the game throughout the convention, which runs from August 21 to 25. Gamescom seems like the perfect stage for Deep Silver to announce the release date, whether or not the game has been slightly delayed.
Considering the broader context, a delay for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 wouldn’t be surprising. The original game experienced three significant postponements before its release in 2018. However, the sequel is less likely to face a similar situation, as it was announced at a more advanced stage of development.
One encouraging sign emerged earlier in August 2024 when the game received an age rating in South Korea. This step, typically undertaken late in the publishing process, suggests that Deep Silver does not anticipate any major delays for the highly anticipated RPG.
