Stripped NPCs (PTF) v1.0
Removes certain items of outer clothing (dresses, hoods, etc) from selected NPCs. NOTE: This is *not* a nude mod, but is compatible.
It all started with Bara. She seemed a little overdressed for a lowly beggar on the backwater street of Troskowitz, but soon it became clear that no matter how many times her dress would mysteriously disappear during the night, she would always somehow reacquire it the next day. Rain or shine. Groschen or no, Bara always gets what she wants (…assuming what she wants is that particular dress).
But as you may already know, Bara is not alone in this behavior. All NPCs will eventually return to their default state of dress, despite your valiant efforts at thievery. So although there may already be a permanent thievery mod in the works, in the meantime, I am offering this option as an alternative.
Versions
I’m offering a few basic versions of the mod at this point, which can be used individually or in any combination, but I may expand upon the selection if there are compelling requests:
1) A mainly lore-friendly option that only targets bathmaids.
(NOTE: Some bathmaids already appear unclothed in the base game, this just extends that to include all bathmaids)
2) For those wanting even more medieval promiscuity, an expanded selection of women (based on what the game files internally refer to as wenches), which include various innkeepers, housemaids, townspeople, etc.
(CAUTION: Using this version will affect *many* of the female NPCs wandering around, so be prepared for a loss of immersion)
3) A Bara specific option, as she was the inspiration for this whole thing, just in case anyone else feels as though she’s been getting above her station. 😉
4) A Katherine specific option, because of course.
(NOTE: I’m not that far through the game yet, so I’ve been able to test Katherine up through the events of For Whom the Bell Tolls, but not afterwards. She is tricky because she has many different states, so if you encounter anything odd later in the game, let me know. I may need a provided save file to troubleshoot it though).
5) A Rosa specific option, to not leave her out either.
(NOTE: I haven’t actually been able to test this one in game, but it should work just the same as the other options. If you run into issues, let me know.)
Installation instructions
PTF means Patched Table File, so this mod will not conflict with any other mods unless they specifically edit the same clothing presets for the same NPCs.
Like most other mods, simply extract the desired files into your KCD2 mods folder. It will work retroactively with previous saves or a new game.
As an example, if you wanted both Bathmaids and Wenches versions together but not any of the named NPCs, you would download both of those options and extract them each into your mods folder. The file structure would then look something like:
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedBathmaids
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedWenches
Within each of the extracted folders you should see the mod.manifest file along with the mod’s Data folder. For example:
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedBathmaids\Data
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedBathmaids\mod.manifest
Probably the most common mistake when installing is leaving an extra folder in the file structure (it can easily happen when unzipping the archive). For example, you DO NOT want to do the following:
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedBathmaids\StrippedBathmaids\Data
…\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\StrippedBathmaids\StrippedBathmaids\mod.manifest
In this case, you would simply need to get rid of the extra “StrippedBathmaids” folder, and everything should work.
Uninstall instructions
Simply delete the folders out of your KCD2 mod directory. It will not corrupt or otherwise affect save data.
Further Recommendations
For those of you who are interested, I recommend checking out beethy’s excellent work on KCD Nude mod which is fully compatible with this mod.
Also, for anyone that is inclined to try their own hand at modding, feel free to use this mod as a template for making your own versions to dress (or undress) the people in any way that YOU see fit! (See the sticky comment in Posts for basic instructions)
